Let me tell you how it feels;
When she says she is happy
It is like People dancing in the streets
Singing a revolution that succeeded
Overwhelmed with Joyful tears
When she smiles in spite of bombings
It feels like drones to disappear
It feels like chains to be broken
And a child sleeps peacefully with no fear
When she laughs in spite of borders
Distances measured by an army no more
It feels like spaces getting shorter
And i can hear her heart pounding here
When she tells me she loves me
It’s like Gaza is not under siege
It’s me, her, a sea and a shore
Soldiers lose uniforms, for all I care!
When she says she wants to hug me
Demolished houses are then re-built
Settlements once again olive trees
And a free Palestine is now true
When she says she had missed me
Apartheid laws become a history
It feels like the wall to fall so soon
It’s a 5 minutes’ walk to the moon
When she says she will kiss me
It feels like refugees are going home
Prisoners now can raise their children
It feels like martyrs to be reborn
It’s when you love under occupation
Their security seems so fake
Even with a wall of separation
They can’t set you apart, stay awake
And this land, once took from us
Will give forever to fix a mistake
It’s when you love under occupation,
It’s a freedom they can’t take
